WARNING! THIS IS EXTREMELY LONG!
If you actually read the whole thing your are awesome….or just bored like I am.
Where do I begin? Doesn’t matter where, either way, you won’t want to raise your kid on this planet. I cannot believe most of the kids today. MOST! Not all. There are still some that gives me hope in the future. Heck I look at people my age and think about how screwed we are. I’m 20, and looking at people that are close to twenty or older. Yea. We’re screwed in the future. Now I’m not saying I’m one of these awesome people out there that has given me faith. Oh no. I am definitely one of the ones that is causing the downfall. BUT! I’m doing that because I’m a lazy bum. No motivation. But that’s because I know it’ll all be in vain. I have the right mind set, but I don’t help the cause cause I’m an idiot and prefer to do nothing.
MUSIC
Let’s start with music. Now I can’t really say anything about this. We all have our own preferences. But I’ll mention it anyways. Go back into the times of the 80s. Rock n Roll era. In my mind, awesome. Loved it. Grew up on it. That and The Beatles. Back then, they considered it a disgrace and refused the kids from listening to it because it gave them the chance to be different by being themselves. Parents mostly just wanted their kids to be like them, a doctor, or a lawyer. This day in age, parents don’t care. In fact. They don’t care at all. Should they care? Absolutely. Not to the point of how parents were in the 80s, but enough to give an opinion. I mean come on, my kid says it’s cool so I let them listen to it. Even when the parents know or figure out the meaning of the song, they still let them listen to it. If their kid was 13 or older, I can understand letting them choose what they want a little bit, but you can suggest something else. Now if their child was younger, I just wonder why parents let kids listen to that stuff. People say that they don’t know what it means. Kids are smart people! Anyone can use the internet as long as they know how it works. Kids grow up with a computer most of the time, looking stuff up is easy. Especially when it’s lyrics to the songs, because people like to know what the meaning is or give their idea on what they think it means.
Parents were mostly afraid of kids hearing swear words in songs back in the 80s, today they don’t have a problem listening to a song about death, drinking, sex, or prison life (remember, kids under 13). I would say something about them listen to Justin Bieber music, but like I said, preference is one thing. Do I like his music? Absolutely not. His songs? Nope. BUT! They aren’t bad in the terms of what I had just mentioned. Do I think he sucks? Yea. But he is doing things the right way to earn money and keep a good fan base. Well….for the most part. Kids like him, let them go. If he started making songs about death, drinking, or sex, then well, he screwed himself over that time.
STYLE
How about the style of today? This could actually go with pretty much everyone if I could. But I think I’ll talk about this from people my age (20) and younger. Now I’m a simple person, I can work with a simple shirt and jeans. My conditions, it’s comfortable. Remember that word, it’ll be a key one. Comfortable. Now I see people today wearing some funky stuff. I like it. They are being themselves. They should be. But then you see someone who is all about style. Nothing wrong with that. When I look at them, I think this “style” they are wearing. Hideous. Disgusting. Only words that pop in my mind. Ok one more. Idiotic. By idiotic I mean ‘How do you even move in that?’ Seriously though, people wearing funky stuff is one thing, wearing something you can barely move in and complain about is plane stupid. My favorite is when someone complains how uncomfortable they are in it. If you’re going to wear something, wouldn’t you prefer to be comfortable in it? I mean come on! Is impressing people you don’t know really that important? Who cares?! People like me would only, but for the exact opposite reasons you’re thinking.
Now teens in high school pretty much are the same way. ‘How do people think I look?’ Makes sense, it’s high school, want to be with the in crowd. So I see what they wear and don’t think anything of it…….You don’t think I’m serious with saying that right? COME ON! Schools let kids walk in with almost nothing on?! Jeez! I mean my senior year people were getting yelled at for skirts that were JUST above the knee. I went to my high school to visit some teachers and I saw a group of senior girls walking by with shorts that went up to their hips. That’s right. HIPS! Better yet. Saw a teacher staring right at their asses. Schools allow this?!?! I find this way to hard to believe. Going from super strict to uncaring? Doesn’t seem right. But like I said. It’s high school. Anyway to fit in. Just stupid.
Time to get younger, and actually get worse. I went to go pick up a friend’s kids from school because they asked me to watch them until they got home. They were brother and sister in 5th and 6th grade. Now I’m just sitting there waiting for them to show up. Bell rang, and I thought my eyes were bleeding. Since when, are no clothes allowed in school? I don’t mean kids were running around butt naked. But girls were wear belly button shirts and the same ‘up to the hips’ shorts. 6TH! GRADE! WHAT?!?!?! Guys were walking around with their pants down their ass and tripping over themselves and asking ‘Why do I keep tripping?’…………Are you kidding me? DO YOU SERIOUSLY NOT KNOW WHAT’S TRIPPING YOU?! I told him that I know what was tripping him. He asked ‘What?’ And I told him flat out ‘Your pants are half way down your butt. That can tend to cause tripping.’ ‘Whatever old foegy (suppose to be pronounced foe-gee).’ OLD FOEGY?! I prefer my pants about my ass, that makes me old? And a foegy?
Going younger, welcome to Elementary. Thank fricken god these kids are normal. Whatever normal is. But you see girls being dressed in either jeans and shirt or a nice dress. Boys are in their jeans with a shirt as well and sometimes cargos. The younger kids, have given me a little faith. Not much, but I’ll take what I can get.
WARNING!
This is my least favorite thing to go over about, but it must be said. Please excuse my language in this one. For it gets that bad. Even I get bad in this.
Fucking. Mannerism.
Does ANYONE have manners anymore. This can be subjected to everyone on this planet. But then this post would be even longer. So once again. My age (20) and under. I don’t even know where to begin. Because they are all pretty much the same. BUT! Let’s start with what gives me faith. Good guess. The kids in Elementary Schools. Nice manners, they tend to have a quick tempertantrum but they quickly cool off. Now for them I expect more selfish and/or bossiness. I actually expect mostly bad out of kids this young. Seeing this has brought tons of faith in my eyes.
Let’s go up to 4th-8th. Just the end of Elementary and before high school. Nasty little brats they are. I would love to slap them and teach them a thing or too about talking to another person. Especially their elders. They should learn to speak nice to older people. How you talk to your friends and/or family is something else. Also. Kids at this age should be swearing. I can understand a simple word like ‘hell,’ ‘damn,’ and ‘ass.’ But I should hear words like this (and yes I have heard kids this young speak words like this in person and to me sometimes) ‘shit,’ ‘fuck,’ ‘dick,’ ‘cunt,’ ‘pussy,’ and ‘douche.’ I will admit, it is quite amusing hearing them attempt to mash them up together. But are you kidding me. I asked one kid ‘Do you talk to your mother like this?’ and his words were so disturbing to me, actually made me sick a little. ‘That bitch knows better then to tell me what the fuck to do. She knows I’d slice her up and dump her dumbass in a ditch somewhere.’ I don’t care if this kid was kidding or not, you don’t talk about your own mother like that. The saddest part, he was about 11 years old. 11. Even if he was trying to be tough, you can go up to any tough guy OR girl and they would never speak bad about their mother OR talk about doing something bad to her. My biggest question is where are kids learning this and are parents really just letting this go by? Do they really not give a shit? If I even spoke bad about my mother without the swearing, I’d have a wooden spoon against my ass for 10min straight. Do parents even discipline their children anymore? Are they saying abuse? Guess what. A good spanking is not about. Punch your kid however is way to harsh. Put them in a corner for an amount of time. I would get in so much trouble I’d be stuck there for 30mins if it was that bad. Normally it would be 10min for just doing something bad. What, are the kids saying you’re not feeding them or something? Are you really going to to be threatened by that? If a CPS personal came to your house to check on things, do you really think your kid would win? Do something new. My parents would tell me:
‘We are going to give you 2 days of being on your own while we are here. We will not bother you or help you, even if you ask. No reminders or anything. You will have to fend for yourself. Get yourself something to eat. Laundry. Everything. You will have access to everything in the house except for us, your siblings, and obvious places that you can’t go to on a normal day basis. Do you want to try this out for the next 2 days? If not then you cannot complain about this again. If you accept then listen carefully. If you make it through without complaining or asking us to help you out, unless you really needed it for things only an adult can do, then you will earn a reward. If you fail by asking for help, you will be grounded for a week and lose your nintendo ( xbox/ps3/something else today). Do we have a deal?’
This is a great way to teach your kids a lesson. I did succeed, my reward was that I learned what it was like to be responsible. And I got to go out for ice cream that time. Watch them attempt to be their own person. Teach them a lesson.
Now let’s go to high schoolers to 20yr olds. You expect them to be the swearing kids that we are. True. My main question. Can you be respectable to elders and around others? Teens are generally nice around elders, never disrespectful. As soon as it comes to another persons parents, they are respectable, but in the wrong way. Now as soon as it goes to a complete stranger. I don’t think asking ‘Da fuck up bro?’ is a proper way of saying ‘Hi.’ I mean a little respect towards another person would be nice right? Even if you’ll never meet them again. Now it is even worse when people speak like that, WHILE AT WORK! You are WORKING! Not hanging out with your buddies. Did you not learn manners as a kid? Aren’t you suppose to pay attention to me if you have to help the customer as your job? It’s one thing if you are taking your friends orders, but you should still be respectable because people are still around you.
I think that actually wraps this rant up. I didn’t notice how much I typed when doing this. Doesn’t help that this subject really busts my chops. I mean Being a Kid, you’re going to learn this stuff and not know it right away, but you do get a chance to look at things before hand. So why not try to be that a way a little. But the Parents are the worse. After seeing the discipline that I have went through as a kid, it makes me wonder if parents today even give a little discipline let alone even care about what happens with their kid.
If you are a person and take offense to this, I’m actually not sorry. This is my personal opinion. I’m sticking to it. I’m sure if you took a real good look, you’ll see some of this is true. The Music part of this probably didn’t have to be said but it was.
Agree with me? Thank you. I’m glad to see someone does.
Do you want to tell me your own personal opinion? Leave me a message or answer to this reply. Random question at the end will give the reply possibilities.
Any questions though, I’m always answering. Are you a parent and think you might not be caring enough? Talk to me. I’ll give you my opinions and ideas. I might not be a parent, but I was raised around a bunch of good ones. Learned many ideas.
Random Question to allow reply: Did you actually read the whole Rant? Or was it TL;DR (To Long; Didn’t Read)?
